The emergence of borg fleece coincided with the rise of outdoor and leisurewear in the 1960s and 70s. Its insulating properties, combined with its soft, plush feel, made it a favourite for adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts seeking warmth without added weight. By the 1980s and 90s, borg fleece transitioned into mainstream fashion. Its retro appeal and versatile aesthetic made it a popular choice for casual wear, and it became a staple in everything from oversized coats to cosy pullovers.
