INTRODUCING

In search of his fortune, the intrepid traveller makes his way through the hills of California - we welcome The Prospector. 

This is the tailored canvas jacket you’ve been missing. With reinforced shoulders and traditional details like the back buckle, the Prospector Jacket is the ultimate autumn outerwear piece.

Phil wanted that vintage aesthetic but with a balance of today’s workwear style. Canvas jackets were often lined with blankets for warmth and comfort so he designed the Prospector Jacket with this in mind. Our wool-mix liner is much softer than the original blankets used and the old grey colour with contrasting vintage red and cream stripes echo the style of a cowboy’s blanket. 

The liner is also completely removable so on fair-weather days you can sport the canvas jacket or the liner as a solo piece. The metal hardware is designed to look tarnished and the canvas comes in a beautiful faded navy blue.

  • The liner jacket has a metal YKK 2-way zip with an &SONS branded puller
  • It features a bespoke stripe design with a bound neckline, cuff opening and lower pockets
  • Liner Jacket - 47% POLYESTER 22% ACRYLIC 28% WOOL 3% POLYAMIDE
  • The wool content is recycled. This means that there may be flecks of different coloured yarn and unique 'imperfections' visible in the fabric
  • The Outer Jacket had a double chest pocket and also features a metal YKK Zip with an &SONS branded puller
  • Bespoke branded metalwork
  • Cinch on the lower back for adjustability
  • Cord lining on the collar and inner adjustable cuffs

“When designing the PROSPECTOR - I imagined this to be like an old work jacket found in a disused shack near a river in the Klondike. Still hung up on the back of a wooden door. With rough wear in all the right places and a beautiful worn-in patina and faded colour. The Pioneer who wore it in an old photograph on the wall…

I have made the blanket liner removable so the wearer can either wrap up warm with both layers or pare down to just the liner cardigan - or even just wear the canvas jacket on its own in fairer weather. So, you really get 3 garment combinations in one jacket, giving the wearer a full year-round jacket and a way of creating many different looks.

The metal hardware was designed to look like 'old gold' and feel a bit tarnished. We’ve added some lovely stitching details and slight wear and tear to the exterior fabric. The outer jacket has been in a vintage wash which results in some great highs and lows in the dark blue canvas. There is also a hidden part of an anonymous poem inside the jacket that has been hand-printed, in a vintage off-white paint for added detail”
